What To Gift

The day of love is upon us; Valentine’s Day! Although many of us like to say they show love all year long, Valentines is set aside as the one special day to declare to the world, what your partner means to you. I would like to share some tips on how to pick the perfect gift for your partner.

1. Listen I consider myself the best gifter in my house and that’s because I listen. And since most people like to harp on the fact that Valentines should be every day, then if you take the time to listen every day, you will find little hints of things your mate would want as a gift. Your mate is constantly unconsciously dropping (some may do it on purpose…LOL!) I make little notes when he talks and just when he least expects…I have it for him!

2. Know Your Mate Another thing that makes you such a good gifter is knowing your mate. My husband and I often say that we can finish each other’s sentences. When you know your mate as good as you know yourself, it helps when you didn’t get a hint of what they want. My mate loves sports (of all kinds), he is also a musician, and he loves new gadgets. I can’t go wrong buying anything in those categories.

3. When All Else Fails Sometimes in life, we get so busy that we forget to stop and smell the roses. So if Valentine’s day sneaks up on you and you didn’t have time to pick out a specialized gift, you can always go with the traditional favorites like flowers, candy and dinner. But keep in mind that nothing is better than spending quality time with each other. Take the time out to tell your mate how you feel about them and why they are so special to you. Make a love goal to keep love first in your relationship and celebrate Valentines as often as you like.

Valentine’s Day is just a holiday on the calendar. But when you show your love on a regular basis to your mate, they will be pleased with whatever you decide to gift them. In gifting, it really is the thought that counts, so for at least one day a year…take the time to put some thought into showing your mate they are truly your one and only!
